The project

Kerstin Viola is Jon Magnusson's harp project: a place for original compositions and classical arrangements, with connections to his work for piano.

The repertoire includes Schumann's Kinderszenen and Album für die Jugend. Fantasy of the Loon Pond for Harp, Op. 1 is an original composition released under both Jon's name and Kerstin Viola.

From piano ideas to harp arrangements

Jon's work includes adapting piano repertoire for harp. The arrangement gives an existing piece a different instrumental setting while keeping its composer distinct from the arranger.

The Solo Harp editions also connect Kerstin Viola with Georg Nielsen. Everything Belongs To You appears in both musical settings; the harp version is a separate recording to explore.
